Marine Mechanic
Responsibilities:
Perform installation, inspection, maintenance, and overhaul of ship mechanical systems, including engines, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, and valves.
Carry out dismantling, repair, refurbishment, and testing of marine valves (gate, globe, ball, check, and control valves) during ship repair and dry dock operations.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults on auxiliary machinery, piping systems, and deck equipment to ensure safe and efficient vessel operations.
Ensure all mechanical and valve works comply with shipyard safety rules, class requirements, and HSE procedures.
Maintain accurate job cards, service reports, and maintenance records.
Coordinate with supervisors and team members to meet project timelines and quality standards.
Requirements:
 
ITI / Diploma in Mechanical or Marine Engineering / Trade.
Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in ship repair, shipyard, or marine maintenance projects.
Strong practical knowledge of marine mechanical systems and valve servicing activities.
Experience in dry docking, shutdowns, confined spaces, and shipboard environments.
Ability to read marine drawings, manuals, and technical specifications.
Physically fit and capable of working in demanding marine and shipyard conditions.
Good communication skills in English.
Must be available in Qatar with valid QID & transferable visa (NOC).
Immediate joiners preferred.
