Description

Key Responsibilities:
Machine Operation: Set up and operate CNC woodworking machines such as routers, mills, and lathes.
Programming: Input and modify CNC machine programs to ensure accurate cuts and designs, often using specialized software like AutoCAD, Mastercam, or similar tools.
Material Handling: Load and secure materials like wood, plywood, MDF, or composite boards into the CNC machine.
Quality Control: Monitor the quality of the cuts and ensure that the final product meets specifications. Adjust machine settings as necessary.
Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting to keep machines in good working condition.
Safety: Follow safety guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
Production Monitoring: Monitor machine performance and adjust as needed for efficiency and to prevent defects or downtime.
Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Skills: Proficient in CNC machine programming, operation, and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of Woodworking: Understanding of wood types, cutting techniques, and the characteristics of wood-based materials.
Attention to Detail: High precision is required to ensure that pieces are cut and shaped to exact specifications.
Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot machine or design issues and make necessary adjustments.
Safety Awareness: Ability to work in a safe environment, including knowledge of machine safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Communication Skills: Ability to follow instructions, communicate effectively with team members, and document work.
Education and Experience:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent, with technical training or certification in CNC operation preferred.
Experience: Experience in woodworking, particularly CNC operation, is highly valued. Some operators may receive on-the-job training.
