Description
You must be trained in the use of construction tools and in the techniques of scenic carpentry.
Further skills in welding, using fiberglass, sculpting, and carving
Responsibilities include, but not limited to, rigging and building/setup and dismantle of scenic sets, flats, pipe/drape and taking and executing cues from technical director, project manager or stage manager. Interact with clients and staff in a positive and professional manner and assist any and all positions at any time, including loading and unloading trucks. Requires carpentry skills including accurate measurements.
Requirements and Qualifications
High school diploma or GED certificate
Completion of a relevant finish carpentry training program or apprenticeship or at least one year of carpentry experience
Keen attention to detail
Blueprint reading skills
Able to use common hand tools and power tools
PPE and carpentry trade tools
Troubleshooting and communication skills
Physical stamina for lifting equipment and working at various heights and in tight space
