Description

Job Summary:

Responsible for applying hard tile, marble and wood tile to surfaces such as walls, floors, ceilings, and roof decks.

Duties and Responsibilities:
•Implements the layout necessary to achieve a desire pattern or design
•Measures and marks surfaces to be tiled
•Constructs underbeds and sets anchor bolts, wires and brackets
•Mixes, applies, and spreads plaster, concrete, mortar, cement mastic, glue, or other adhesive to apply, seal, and finish tile and marble flooring, counters, or walls
•Uses levels, squares, straightedges, and hand or power cutting tools to complete jobs
•Ensures masonry materials are properly aligned and straightened
•Cuts and shapes tiles as needed, making precision cuts to fit around objects and into abnormal spaces and corners
•Levels concrete and ensures that proper dry time is followed
•Finishes, dresses and cleans joints and grout
•Performs other related duties, as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:
•Minimum 2 years work experience
•Able to skillfully apply tiles and marbles to a variety of surfaces
•Thorough understanding of materials, methods, and tools involved in the process
•Able to make reasonable estimates of sizes, distances, and quantities
•Able to identify the materials, resources, and costs and time needed to complete the works
•Experience in marble & granite mechanical cladding systems, an advantage
