Description

Excellence Generation is seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Senior Quantity Surveyor who will be managing project finances and contractual relationships for construction companies including cost estimation, procurement, contract administration, and cost control.

Prepare and evaluate tender documents, including bills of quantities, specifications, and contract terms.
Manage procurement processes, including issuing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and resolving supply chain issues.
Prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects, considering materials, labor, equipment, and overheads.
Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to establish project budgets based on cost estimates.
Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed projects.
Review and analyze project plans, drawings, and specifications to identify cost-saving opportunities and potential risks.
Analyze and forecast project costs, including labor, materials, equipment, and overheads.
Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, identify potential cost overruns, and recommend cost-saving measures.
Assess the impact of changes to project scope, specifications, or design and provide cost estimates and recommendations.
Review and negotiate change orders, ensuring appropriate documentation and cost adjustments.
Prepare and maintain accurate quantity take-offs, measurement records, and cost reports.
Conduct on-site measurements, valuations, and progress assessments.
Prepare interim and final payment applications, invoices, and claims.
Maintain organized project documentation, including contracts, drawings, and correspondences.
Provide guidance and technical expertise to junior quantity surveyors and project teams.
Assist in the development and implementation of training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of team members.
Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment, promoting professional growth and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
10-15 years of extensive experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry, with a focus on large-scale projects.
Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost control techniques.
Proficiency in using quantity surveying software and computer-aided design (CAD) tools.
Excellent understanding of construction processes, materials, and techniques.
Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate cost estimates and manage project budgets.
Solid knowledge of relevant construction regulations, codes, and industry best practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
Proven leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and motivate team members.
